CMA implores upon the political parties and the government to take concrete steps towards the development of broadband infrastructure in the country. Only talks and plans wont do. It is high time they got into action doing something about it. It also appealed to the local and regional firms to increase investment as well as stakes in online business, e-commerce services and other web services so as to increase the return on investment that would go into setting up of required network infrastructure and allied assets.
Currently, Britain lags behind many of its competitors such as Japan, Korea, Sweden etc in terms of broadband services in the country and just made it to the list of top 30 in terms of Broadband quality Score. In fact the IT community in the country is losing out against its counterparts in other nations because of the poor broadband coverage as well as connectivity issues in certain regions.
